MISSION STATEMENT

Advancing the Kingdom of God, through the proclamation of the potent Gospel of Jesus Christ, and by the demonstration of the Holy Spirit’s power (LOVE), striving to empower the total man; spirit, soul and body (Matthew 28:19-20).

What culture do we need to cultivate and contend for in an effort to make this happen?

By studying, meditating on and practicing the Word of God and our Core Values until they become so entrenched in us that they become our character. That is, they become who we are and not merely what we do.

CORE VALUES

The culture of the Kingdom is love and God demonstrated this agape love by sending His only Son to suffer and die for sinners although we didn’t deserve it; “for God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son…” (Jn. 3:16). Agape love is selfless, sacrificial, unconditional love and it is the highest kind of love. Therefore all things must be done in love and be motivated by love (1 Cor. 13). Remember, love covers a multitude of sins.

  • 1 Pet 4:8: And above all things have fervent love among yourselves: for love shall cover the multitude of sins.

  • Rom. 13:10: Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.

  • 1Jn. 4:7-8: Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.

  • Jn. 13:34-35: A new commandment I give unto you, That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another. By this shall all men know that ye are my disciples, if ye have love one to another.

  • 1 Cor. 16:14: Let all your things be done in love.

  • 1Cor. 13:2: Though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries, and all knowledge; and though I have all faith, so that I could remove mountains, and have not love, I am nothing.

Godly humility is the quality of having a sober or sound opinion of ourselves and our importance in the Lord. It involves us not thinking we are better than other people therefore we are courteous and respectful to others. Additionally, God opposes and distances Himself from proud and haughty people.

  • Jas. 4:6: But He giveth more grace. Wherefore He saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

  • Rom. 12:3: For I say, through the grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.

  • Phil. 2:3: Let nothing be done through strife or vain glory; but in lowliness of mind let each esteem other better than themselves.

  • Ps. 138:6: Though the Lord be high, yet hath He respect unto the lowly: but the proud He knoweth afar off.

  • Colossians 3:12: Put on therefore, as elect of God, holy and beloved, bowels of mercies, kindness, humbleness of mind, meekness, longsuffering.

Honour is to treat others with great respect and regard because we value them highly for their worth, merit and/or rank, position or status. Therefore to honour someone is to esteem the person and bestow value on him/her. The Bible exhorts us to honour all men. Godly submission is the act of yielding willingly to the authority or power of someone else. It is being obedient to our leaders and the Word of God, doctrines, rules and regulations of the church. Lack of submission therefore hinders the fulfilment of the mission and opens the door to the enemy. Disregard for authority is rebellion and when we disrespect those who are in authority we disrespect those who placed them in that position (Pastor/Leader), and ultimately GOD.

  • 1Pet. 2:17:  Honour all men. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honour the king.

  • 1Tim. 5:17: Let the elders that rule well be counted worthy of double honour, especially they who labour in the word and doctrine

  • Rom. 12:10: Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another.

  • Romans 13:1-2: Let every soul be subject unto the higher powers. For there is no power but of God: the powers that be are ordained of God. Whosoever therefore resisteth the power, resisteth the ordinance of God: and they that resist shall receive to themselves damnation.

  • Heb. 13:17: Obey them that have the rule over you, and submit yourselves: for they watch for your souls, as they that must give account, that they may do it with joy, and not with grief: for that is unprofitable for you.

  • Philippians 2:14: Do all things without murmuring and disputing.

  • Col. 3:22: Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eye service, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God

Unity is being in harmony or one in spirit, purpose and goal; it is key to accomplishing the mission. In Jn. 17:21 Jesus prayed for unity among Christians as it exists in the Godhead and points out in Matt. 12:25 that every house divided against itself shall not stand.  Genesis 11:6: Behold the people of (WAFIF) is one and they have all one language and nothing will be restrained from us, which we have imagined to do.

Together Each Accomplishes More (TEAM). Teamwork is accomplished when a group of people are brought together to achieve a common purpose or goal and the needs of the group become more important than the needs of the individual. Therefore, in order for teamwork to be efficient and effective each person needs to put aside his/her own individual needs and work harmoniously with each other to achieve the corporate mission. If every one of us cooperate and do our part then work that would have otherwise been very heavy or too much for one person becomes light to each participant because each does only a part of it. So when anyone of us fails to carry out our individual responsibilities, we accomplish less and the pressure increases on the others. There must be unity for effective and successful teamwork.

  • Psalm 133:1: Behold how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity …there the Lord commands His blessing.

  • 1Cor. 1:10: Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.

  • Philippians 2:4:  Look not every man on his own things, but every man also on the things of others.

  • Galatians 6:2: Bear ye one another’s burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ.

  • Ecclesiastes 4:9-10: Two are better than one; because they have a good reward for their labour. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow: but woe to him that is alone when he falleth; for he hath not another to help him up.

  • Mark 6:7a: And He [Jesus] called unto Him the twelve, and began to send them forth by two and two

Integrity is rated as one of the most important character traits of a Christian and respected leader. Integrity is the character quality of being godly, above reproach, morally and ethically upright; being completely honest to God, ourselves and others, true to our word and not compromising our biblical principles even when we are under pressure. Joseph in Genesis 39:7-20 is a sterling example of a person of integrity who resolutely refused to compromise his godly principles even if it meant going to prison unjustly. When Potiphar’s wife tried to entice Joseph to sin he refused and responded, “How then can I do this great wickedness and sin against God?” (Gen. 39:9b).

Integrity is a personal choice to consistently hold ourselves to biblical, strong moral and ethical principles. For the Christian, integrity goes beyond merely reading, studying, memorizing and declaring the Word of God; it is actually consistently living the Word of God, which is the highest standard of values and virtues, and allowing it to transform us into the image of Jesus Christ. Integrity is the foundation of our character. A person who is sincerely living a life of integrity has an unblemished character in every area of his/her life. People of high integrity always strive for excellence in every area of their life and in everything they do on all occasions because they realize that everything they do is a statement about who they are as a person. Job is an excellent example of such a person, so much so that God boasted of him to Satan in Job 1:8 saying, “Hast thou considered my servant Job, that there is none like him in the earth, a perfect and an upright man, one that feareth God, and escheweth [reject/persistently avoid] evil?”

  • Ps. 15:4b (NLT) – [People of integrity are] those who keep their promises even when it hurts.

  • Prov. 11:3 –  The integrity of the upright shall guide them: but the perverseness of transgressors shall destroy them.

  • 1Peter 3:16 & 17 – Having a good conscience, that when they defame you as evildoers, those who revile your good conduct in Christ may be ashamed. For it is better, if it is the will of God, to suffer for doing good than for doing evil.

  • Prov. 12:22 –  Lying lips are abomination to the Lord: but they that deal truly are his delight

Excellence is the daily habit of consistently striving for and maintaining the highest standards in our lives according to the Word of God and producing the highest quality service by the power of the Holy Spirit. It involves us giving of our best in everything we do at all times and never settling for where we are at but is always actively pursuing the best. When the Queen of Sheba went to visit King Solomon, she was awed at the quality in which the Kingdom operated (1Kings 10:1-10). This is symbolic of the world visiting the church and being awed at the level of EXCELLENCE. Excellence can be hindered by the lack of understanding of protocol.
