WHAT WE BELIEVE
At Worship and Faith International Fellowship (WAFIF); We believe:
- That the Bible is the written inspired word of God (2 Tim.3:15-17, Matt 5:17-18, Psalm 19:7-8). God breathed into the writers so that they were incapable of making mistakes.
- That there is one eternal, all powerful, and all knowing God who exists in three persons, namely: (a) Father (b) Son (c) Holy Ghost (Deut 6:4; Gen.1:26; Matt.28:19; Rom.15:30; 2 Cor.13:14; 1 Peter 1:2)
- That a person is lost in sin and separated from God until he/she confesses, repents and accepts Jesus Christ as personal Saviour and Lord (Matt.1:21; 1 John 1:9; Luke 13:3).
- In Water Baptism….in the name of the Father, Son and Holy Ghost (Matt 28:19; Rom 6:3-5). Acts 2:38 does not cancel Matt. 28:19. Either can be done.
- In baptism with the Holy Ghost as a separate experience from conversion. This baptism opens the believer to spiritual power (Jn.20:22; Acts 1:8, Acts.2:4; 10:44-48; 19:2-6).
- That the saved believer in Christ should seek the fruit and gifts of the Holy Ghost. (Gal. 5:22, 23; Matt.17:18-21; Mark 16:17-20; 1 Cor.1:7; 12:1-11, 31).
- In a life that hates sin and loves holiness (Rom. 6:23; 1 Peter 1:13-16; Isaiah 59:2)
- That we are commanded by Christ to win the lost (Luke 14:23; Mark16:15, 16)
- In regular church attendance (Heb. 10:25, 1 Cor. 12:12, 14-23, 27)
- That there is life after death, the saved goes to a literal heaven (John 14:1-3; I Cor.15:52, 1 Thes 4:16-18) and the unsaved to a literal hell (Matt 5:29; Luke 16:19-31; Rev. 20:11-15; 21:8)
- That a believer will not automatically prosper because he/she is a believer. God’s prosperity and success come through the principle of sowing and reaping; and giving and receiving. Faith must be extended to receive. (Gen. 8:22; Luke 6:38; Phil 4:15-19; Deut 12:5-7; 11-14; Malachi 3:6-12; Eccl.11:1-6, Deut.8:18).
- That pastors should love and take care of their congregation and that they in return should be properly taken care of by the persons they serve (Deu.12:19; Luke 8:1-3; 1 Cor.9:7-14; Phil 4:15-19; Jer. 3:15; 23:1-4)
- That love is the foundation to a happy, prosperous, victorious and fulfilled Christian life. (1 Cor.13:1; 1 John 2:9-11; 4:7-21)
- That (Matthew 19:9, 1 Cor. 7:1-17, 10:15, Matt 5:31-32, Mark 10:2-12) should be the basis for divorce and remarriage. However each case must be dealt with on its own merit.
- In the partaking of the Lord’s Supper (1 Corinthians 11: 24-27, Luke 22:19-20, John 6:53-58, Acts 2:42).
- In Water Baptism (John 1:29-34, Matthew 3:11, Matt 28:18-20, Acts 8:36-39)
- That babies should be dedicated (1 Sam 1:11, Luke 2:21, Matt 19:13-14, Mark 10:13, Luke 18:16)
